(see notes below)
WHY CHOOSE US? Because we make things as hassle free as possible with no hidden charges.
What customers can expect on new system installs? Proposed prices generally include the following :
One return box stand or tube stand, unless the existing mounting method is more suitable.
One digital non-programmable thermostat for 2 heat 1 cool systems. Programmable available.
One digital programmable touch screen thermostat for TRANE high performance systems.
Condenser pad, unless there is an existing concrete pad which is the best type to have.
An In-Line float switch for condensate drain protection, unless a condensate drain pump exists.
Removal and disposal of the old ac/heating system from the premises.
Taxes, Permit and Inspection - It is
required for a city inspector to check the installation
and operation of the new system to
ensure all applicable codes and specifications are met.
Arrangements must be made for the customer to meet with the inspector or the city will impose a fine. This is the only responsibility placed upon the customer.
At the Installers discretion, other items to a reasonable limit, may be added at no extra cost.
Item's NOT included: (The majority of customers do not run into these extra costs.)
Major modifications to ductwork that may be necessary for proper operation of variable speed air handlers.
Installation of additional supply and/or return duct runs to existing rooms or new room additions.
Installation of new copper line-sets.
It is also strongly suggested and more generally regarded as
a requirement
to change the line-set if the old system experienced
a compressor burn-out. If converting from an R-22 system
to the new R-410A Puron systems it is at least necessary to do a line-set flush with an R-11 Flush Kit.
Installation of a new condensate drain pump with 3/8" copper run.
Any extra materials not previously mentioned above as item's included.
Electrical circuits and/or panel
upgrades which require a certified electrician. We are limited
to high and low voltage wiring of the system to (and to include) the disconnect box or boxes.
Note 1:
Current retail pricing is subject to change as the manufacturer's effect adjustments in their prices.
Note 2:
Publishing retail
prices is not generally practiced due to the disapproval of
manufacturer's and contractor's claims of
devaluing their product and inciting negative business
practices...so I'm told. Therefore we suggest calling for
estimates and do a comparison for "price and
what's all included in the deal".

Tax Credits for Consumer Energy Efficiency

http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=tax_credits.tx_index
How do I apply for the tax credit? What
tax form do I need for the energy efficiency tax credits? (2011 form not available
yet)
http://energystar.supportportal.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=23018&task=knowledge&questionID=16629
Have
the tax credits been extended for 2011?
On
December 17, 2010, President Obama signed the Tax
Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act
of 2010. This
law extends the tax credits for energy efficiency into 2011, BUT at
lower levels. The levels revert back to those in effect in 2006 and
2007, which were 10% of the cost of the improvement, up to $500,
with a $200 max for windows, and several other set maximums.
Highlights:
- 10% up
to $500 for insulation, roofs, and doors.
- Windows
capped at $200, but qualification now ENERGY STAR
- Furnace
and boilers capped at $150, and all furnaces and boilers must meet
95 AFUE
- $50 for
advanced main air circulating fan
- $300
for air conditioners, water heaters, and biomass
stoves
- $500
lifetime limit. If you got over $500 in these tax credits from
2006-2010, you are not eligible for anything more.
Note: If you are only able to take
advantage of a $300 Tax Credit for a new heat pump or air
conditioner because of the maximum amount rules in place that can be
claimed for various components of the HVAC system then that means
you will have $200 remaining to claim on some other home improvement
item since $500 is a lifetime limit. Other improvements could include adding more insulation
to any section poorly insulated above the ceiling which
can greatly help the performance of a new system
install, new energy efficient doors and windows, new energy efficient roofing,
or any other improvements which expire Dec 31, 2011. (See the
two links above for more
info)

CUSTOMERS... RESEARCH WITH DUE
DILIGENCE
Using Lead Services such as
QualitySmith or ServiceMagic is not a requirement or an absolute
guarantee that a contractor is operating legitimately
-or- that you will get quality
workmanship. In fact, if you do a search on "complaints against
QS or SM" you may be very surprised at what
you'll find... one seems to have very
little consumer complaints, but the other... WOW!...Check it out for
yourselves.
